Real life can get pretty boring sometimes. It's fun to daydream about living in your favorite anime while staring out of a window from your daily commute to work or school. While it might be fun to imagine what your abilities would be if you could control your Chakra, Nen, or Ki, the real-life implications of having these superpowers are quite daunting. What would anime power systems look like when applied to the real world? 

As we know from Spider-Man, with great power, comes great responsibility. If anyone in the real world can harness dangerous levels of power, we might be doomed. However, if controlling the abilities takes a lot of time and patience, our world might be okay because most people are pretty lazy. Let's take a look at some of the more popular magic systems in anime and hypothesize how doomed we would all be if we could suddenly do what our favorite anime characters can do.

    pierresito That's exactly why if I had to choose one I'd choose nen. Yeah it's broken and there's messed up people, but on top of chance and talent nen ton of effort. Something like also involves a sh level system would be a hay day for psychos, but i feel like nen would at least reduce that down significantly. Yeah there's psychos with nen, but most peeps can live normal lives.

    BassGeese The safest would probably be quirks or Nen, from my knowledge I don't they've produced anything major feats that would cause world devastation apart from wrecking cities.

    manga arc, haki/devil fruits have to give up a lot and haki is cool but compativity get some body enhancement and observation. Haven't read or watched MHA But aren't quirks evolving to fast for people to control.

    Equivalent Fun6100 Nen. It's an intricate, well designed power system that is pliable enough to be unique for each character, without feeling cheesy or low IQ. I don't know a lot about Stands. Stuck in the season 1 limbo

    Combination-Low I don't understand how people would choose anything else? The rest are essentially random and/or purely talent based. Nen is the only system which tries to be balanced and allows for creativity to compensate.

    HexisCopiae I'd also choose nen because it's the easiest to safely train while it improves your overall body and lifespan, while enabling creation of techniques with limits you choose based on type.

    However I do see the merit of a leveling system, as it entails health recovery, access to a skill tree to peruse, and build archetypes you can plan around. The only downside is WHAT gives XP and if you can succeed in the early levels to grow into it.

    ppppppppppython Haki. Armament and observation would be useful day-to-day but not too dangerous in the wrong hands. It also takes years to use effectively making it less likely to be abused.

    Maconi Anything that involves bloodline benefits (Chakra, Spiritual Energy, Quirks, Grimoires, etc.) would quickly devolve into eugenics and/or aristocracy. Certain groups would be favored/unfavored making the world worse than it already is.

    Devil Fruits are just quirks without the bloodline aspect. It could be fun but would 100% cause chaos. Having a power would basically make you a god since Devil Fruits are supposed to be rare.

    Leveling seems the best to me (depending on how levels/stats are obtained). Humans crave goals and being born into a world with a clear system to guide you seems fun. Everyone is on an equal playing field and it comes down to hard work. Although it is much more existential, where did the System come from/ who controls it? I could see all kinds of conspiracy theories starting lol.

    Ki might be similar to leveling. I don't remember Dragon Ball saying anything about certain people having more Ki than others (ignoring alien races). If you're a human and train your Ki you benefit from your hard work just like the Leveling system. Only downside is you can't train your INT, only physical attributes (so no getting smarter from Ki). Bonus is you can fly I guess lol.
